MSU College of Nursing: The Footsteps of Florence Nightingale

Experience the sights and sounds of London while walking in the footsteps of the healthcare pioneer and founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale. Your guide for the week will be internationally recognized nurse historian and Nightingale scholar, Louise Selanders, EdD, RN, FAAN. Dr. Selanders, a.k.a. “Flo’s Sister.” Louise has private access to places in the city significant to the history of public health and the reform of hospitals including the Old Operating Theatre & Museum, the Gordon Museum of Pathology (not open to the public) and the Florence Nightingale Museum on her 197th birthday. It also includes a full-day trip to Nightingale’s home near Romsey, her final resting place at the Church of St. Margaret, and Stonehenge. While rich with historical nods & nuance, the itinerary also includes time for participants to explore London on their own.

TRAVEL INSURANCE:

Optional travel insurance is not included but is highly recommended and should be purchased at time of registration. The cost is based on the age of traveler and trip cost per person. Please indicate on your registration form if you would like a quote.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Passports are required for international travel and should be obtained well in advance. Please ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months after your return to the United States. For more information, visit travel.state.gov.

DEPOSIT: A land deposit of $500 per person and an air deposit of $250 per person (if the group flight is selected) is due at time of registration to confirm space. Space is limited. First come, first served!

FINAL PAYMENT DUE FEBRUARY 24, 2017. Any cancellations made on or before February 24, 2017 are refundable less a $100 per person fee. No refunds will be issued after this date.
