East Lansing, MI, October 15, 2015 – For the first time, the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum is offering a chance to travel internationally for an exclusive tour of Ireland, focusing on art and culture. Irish native Caitlín Doherty, Broad MSU Curator and Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs, will be leading the trip to numerous cities of Ireland including Dublin, Kilkenny, Waterford, Lismore, and Cork to visit important art institutions.
Those who attend will have private entrance into the early VIP gallery opening of 2116: Irish Contemporary Art. It was co-curated by Doherty and Christopher Clarke, Chief Curator of the Glucksman Gallery, University of Cork. This same collection will then travel to East Lansing in the months following to be shown at the Broad Museum.
The trip will begin on Friday, March 18, 2016 in Dublin and end Saturday, March 26. Guests will stay in authentic manor houses, five-star hotels and estates. Doherty is originally from Ireland and has worked closely with the itinerary to make the experience as authentic as possible.
The package will include roundtrip airfare on United Airlines, seven nights of accommodations, tours, charter transportation, daily breakfast, a welcome reception and farewell dinner. Final payments and registration are due by December 21, 2015.
